Wild Orchid

Material

Two large carrots

Equipment

Sharp-pointed knife
Carving knife

Instructions

1. Peel the carrot. Slice at an angle to form three flat faces. Remove flesh from between the faces, and then carefully cut beneath each face to form a ring of three petals.

2. Trim to round off the core and then in a similar fashion, make two more petals centered between the first three.

3. Cut the flower from the carrot.

4. In the center of the flower, make an elliptical cut. Remove the flesh from the inside and then round the edges and make cuts all around to give it a wavy edge.

5. Trim the petals to give them pointed tips.
