Carved Chilli Type 1 and 2

Material

Three red spur chillies

Equipment

Sharp-pointed knife
Carving knife

Instructions

(Type 1)

1. Select a fresh, medium sized chilli.

2. With the carving knife, make cuts from the stem end towards the tip to form three pointed petals of the desired length.

3. Carefully pull the tip of the chilli away, leaving the core and seeds as the pistil of the flower.

(Type 2)

1. Select fresh, medium sized chillies.

2. With the carving knife, make cuts from the stem end towards the tip all around the chilli to produce many pointed petals of the desired length.

3. Carefully pull the tip of the chilli away, leaving the core and seeds.

4. The chilli flower may be soaked in very cold water to make the petals spread.
