Decorative Lemon Slice 1

Material

Two large uniformly colored lemons

Equipment

Sharp-pointed knife

Instructions

1. Cut the lemons in half lengthwise. Cut each half into wedge-shaped slices, and then cut out a wedge in the center of the peeled side of each slice.

2. Nest three of the V-shaped slices obtained together at one end as shown in the picture and then place a deep green leaf such as an Andaman satin wood leaf at the junction of the slices.

3. Use for decorating fish dishes.
Next, make the expanded petals surrounding the center. Carve out curved and slightly notched petals in a ring around the center and remove the flesh around them so they stand out. Make the next ring in the same way but centering the petals between those of the inner ring. Continue on in similar fashion to the edge of the flower. The petals of each ring should be successively longer than the one before.
