Stewed Veal With Peas

Ingredients
1 kilo of lean veal or tender beef
1 cup of butter
˝ cup of dry white wine
Salt
Pepper
1 teaspoonful of rubbed thyme
˝ kilo of peas

Method
Wash the meat and cut it into slices. Heat the butter well in a wide, shallow pan. Salt and pepper the sliced pieces of meat and put them into the pan to brown. Pour in the wine as soon as it has browned and cover at once. Add the thyme and 2 cups of water and allow the meat to stew. Boil the peas in salted water. When they are almost ready, drain and add them to the meat. Allow to stew together for a while, then serve.
