Vanilla Submarine

Ingredients
640 grms of sugar
˝ cup of water
2 teaspoonfuls of lemon juice
1 level teaspoon of vanilla paste
Method
Put the water to boil with the sugar and stir to begin with. When the syrup has thickened (this can be tested by dropping a tiny spot on a plate and seeing it doesn't melt), add the lemon juice and continue to boil for a while, then remove from heat.
Pour it into an earthernware or enamel bowl and leave it cool to lukewarm. Then add the vanilla and stir with a wooden spoon and continue stirring in the same direction until it thickens. To be served on a teaspoon in a glass of water.
