Winter Warmer (Hot White Chocolate)

Ingredients

6 ounces white chocolate
1 ½ quarts milk
1 teaspoon coffee extract, or 2 teaspoons instant coffee powder
2 teaspoons orange-flavoured liqueur (optional)

FOR SERVING

Whipped cream
Ground cinnamon

Serves: 4


Method

1. With a sharp knife, finely chop the white chocolate. (Try not to handle it too much or it will soften and stick together).


2. Pour the milk into a medium sized heavy saucepan and bring just to a boil (bubbles will form around the edge of the pan).


3. Add the chopped white chocolate, coffee extract or powder, and orange- flavoured liqueur if using. Stir until the chocolate has melted.


4. Divide the hot chocolate between 4 coffee mugs. Top each with a rosette or spoonful of whipped cream & a sprinkle of cinnamon. Serve immediately.

COOK'S TIP:- If preferred, use milk chocolate or semisweet dark chocolate instead of white chocolate, but taste before serving in case a little sugar is needed.
