Cabbage Filling For Pirozhki

Ingredients
Makes filling for 4 dozen pirozhki or 2 pirogi.
1 lb (450 g) white cabbage, finely shredded
1 tablespoon salt
Freshly ground black pepper to taste
2 oz (60 g) butter
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 hard-boiled eggs, minced
2 large onions, minced
4 teaspoons snipped fresh dill or 1¼ teaspoons dried dill
Method
Saute the onion in the butter and oil until transparent, then add the shredded cabbage and continue cooking for 15 to 20 minutes more, until the cabbage is tender but not browned.
Stir in the remaining ingredients, mixing well. Let cool slightly before using.
