Fresno Fruit Sauce

Ingredients

Makes about ½ pint (1¼ cups)

3 oz. (½ cup) raisins
6 tablespoons (½ cup) water
3 tablespoons (¼ cup) redcurrant jelly
6 tablespoons (½ cup) orange juice
2 oz. (¼ cup) brown (firmly packed) sugar
1 tablespoon cornflour (cornstarch)
Pinch of allspice

Method

Combine the raisins, water, jelly and orange juice in a large heat resistant bowl. Heat for 3 minutes until the jelly melts, stirring once.

Mix the sugar, cornflour and allspice together and stir into the raisin mixture. Cook for 1½ minutes, stirring every 30 seconds. Serve with baked ham, pork chops or duck.
