Egg Nog Or Long Life
Ingredients
6 fresh eggs
1 gill raw cream
½ bottle rum or brandy
6 lemons
1 lb. honey
Method
Clean the eggs very carefully and place in an earthenware bowl with the juice of all the lemons and one tablespoon of grated lemon rind (avoid the white pith). Cover with a clean towel and allow to stand for forty-eight hours or until the shells have dissolved into a mash. Then add the raw cream, honey and rum (or brandy) and stir vigorously. Bottle and cork tightly.
