Barbecue Sauce


Makes 1 pint (2 cups)

1 tablespoons (2 tablespoons) butter
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
2 tablespoons (3 tablespoons) finely chopped green pepper
Generous pint ( cup) tomato ketchup (catsup)
3 tablespoons ( cup) water
3 tablespoons ( cup) cider vinegar
teaspoon dry mustard
2 oz. ( cup) soft (light) brown sugar
teaspoon salt
Few drops Tabasco sauce


Put the butter, onion, garlic and green pepper into a large heat resistant bowl. Cook on HIGH for about 3 minutes until the onion is tender. Stir occasionally.

Mix in the remaining ingredients. Continue cooking uncovered for about 2 minutes until the sauce bubbles. Serve this sauce with meat or poultry.
