Spaghetti Carbonara
Ingredients
2 oz. thin spaghetti
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon butter
1 slice bacon, chopped
1 tablespoon onion, finely chopped
1 oz. (3 tablespoons) Parmesan cheese, grated
3 oz. (⅓ cup) cooked ham, minced (ground)
¼ teaspoon pepper
Fresh parsley to garnish
Method
Combine the spaghetti, ¾ pint (2 cups) boiling water, salt and butter in a 2 quart heat resistant bowl. Cover and cook on HIGH for 7 minutes.
Remove the bowl from the oven and leave to stand, covered, for 5 minutes. Meanwhile combine the bacon and onion in a heat resistant serving dish.
Cook uncovered on HIGH for 3 minutes until the onion is tender. Drain the spaghetti, add to the onion mixture and stir in the cheese, ham and pepper. Garnish with sprigs of parsley.
