Boiled Egg With Toast Soldiers

Ingredients

1 egg
4 thin slices bread
A little butter, for spreading
Salt


Method

1. Place the egg in a small pan and pour in hot, not boiling, water to cover. Bring to the boil and cook for 3 minutes for a very soft egg, 4 minutes for a soft yolk and firm white, or 8 minutes for a hard egg.


2. Toast the bread while the egg is boiling and cut it into fingers. Serve the freshly boiled egg with toast fingers, butter and salt to sprinkle.
