Brown Bread Cream Ice
Ingredients
Vanilla cream ice 2
About ¾ stale loaf of brown bread
Caster sugar
Melba sauce
Method
Remove crusts from bread and make bread into crumbs. Sprinkle with caster sugar and toast crumbs until a good brown in a hot oven at 375°F or gas mark 5. This should make 6 tablespoons. Leave to get cold.
Churn the vanilla cream ice until almost set, then quickly add the crumbs and continue to churn for 1-2 minutes. Pack down, let it freeze.
Serve ice on a chilled dish with the sauce of your choice.
