Sea Buckthorn-Buttermilk Shake

Ingredients

1 orange (organic preferred)
1 cup (250 ml) chilled buttermilk
¼ cup (50 ml) unsweetened sea buckthorn or Cranberry juice (health food stores)
2 tbsp (30 ml) pear nectar
¼ tsp (1 ml) vanilla
Pinch ground ginger

Method

Wash the orange in hot water and wipe dry. Cut two long spirals of the peel. Squeeze out the juice.


In a blender or food processor, combine buttermilk, sea buck­thorn juice and pear nectar. Add the orange juice and blend until slightly frothy.


Season with vanilla and ginger and pour into two glasses. Garnish with orange spirals and serve chilled.

Per serving:- approx. 112 calories 3 g protein, 1 g fat, 22 g carbohydrates
