Black Walnut Fruit Crisp
Ingredients
½ cup flour
½ cup brown sugar, packed
½ cup cooking oats
½ cup Hammons Black Walnuts
¼ cup butter, softened
1 x 16oz can cherry pie filling (or any combination of fresh fruit with 1 cup sugar (or to taste)
½ teaspoon pure vanilla
Method
Preheat oven to 375°F. Combine flour, oats, brown sugar and Hammons Black Walnuts. Blend in the softened butter. Pat half of the mixture into the bottom of a 9” square pan. Combine the cherries or fruit mixture, sugar and the pure vanilla. Spread the fruit mixture over the crust, then spread the remaining crust mixture over the top of the pie.
Bake approximately 30 minutes. Let cool before serving.
