Coconut And Nut Bars
Ingredients
1 ½ cup packed brown sugar
1 cup plus 1 tsp. flour, divided
½ cup butter
¼ teaspoon salt
2 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 ½ cup coconut
1 cup chopped black-walnuts
Method
Combine ½ cup brown sugar and 1 cup flour in a medium bowl. Cut in the butter with pastry blender until coarse meal. Press dough evenly into a 9" square baking pan. Bake at 375ºF for 10 minutes. Set aside to cool.
Combine 1 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon flour, salt, eggs, vanilla, coconut and nuts in a medium bowl. Pour over baked crust.
Bake at 375ºF for 20 minutes. Remove to wire rack to cool. Cut into bars.
