Warm Fruit Compote

An ideal chafing dish or buffet dessert.


1 (16-ounce/450-g) can juice-packed pineapple chunks
1 (16-ounce/450-g) can juice-packed sliced peaches
1 cup (170 g) red seedless grapes
2 tablespoons chopped crystallized ginger
cup (60 ml) rum
2 tablespoons sliced almonds
6 tablespoons plain nonfat yogurt


Serves: 6


In a chafing dish or saucepan, heat pineapple and peaches with their juice, grapes, ginger and rum until very warm. To serve, spoon fruit and juice into small bowls. Sprinkle with nuts and top with a dollop of yogurt and a dusting of nutmeg.
