Fruity Apple Crisp

Miss your crumble? This is the next best thing. Full of fruit and spice and all things nice, the muesli or granola makes a wonderfully crispy, yet healthy topping.

Ingredients

3 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and each cut into 8
2 peaches, peeled, stoned and each cut into 6
50 (2oz) mixed dried fruits (Cranberries, blueberries, cherries)
1 tablespoon soft brown muscovado sugar
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon apple pie spice
Juice and grated zest of
1 orange
2 tablespoons plain flour
175g (6oz) unsweetened muesli or granola

Serves: 6


Method

Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F/gas mark 4.

Combine all the ingredients except the muesli or granola and spoon into a baking dish. Sprinkle with the muesli or granola and bake in the oven for about 45 minutes until golden and the fruit is bubbling. Serve with Vanilla Custard.
