Barbecued Strawberry Croissants

The combination of crisp barbecued croissants, ricotta cheese and sweet strawberry conserve makes for a deliciously simple, sinful dessert, which is like eating warm cream cakes!

4 croissants
115g/4oz/ cup ricotta cheese
115g/4oz/ cup strawberry conserve or jam


Serves: 4


1. On a chopping board, split the croissants in half and open them out.

2. Spread the bottom half of each croissant with a generous layer of the ricotta cheese.

3. Top the ricotta with a generous spoonful of strawberry conserve and replace the top half of the croissant.

4. Place the filled croissants on a hot barbecue and cook for 2-3 minutes, turning once. Serve immediately.

Cook's Tip:- As an alternative to croissants, try scones, brioches or muffins, toasted on the barbecue.
