Cheese Stuffed Turkey Burgers

Add a cheesy twist to your classic burger recipe by preparing them with a creamy and mouth watering center. This recipe uses Monterrey Jack cheese, but if you prefer another kind thatís fine too, as long as itís creamy in the middle.

Ingredients

4 burger buns
1ľ pounds lean ground turkey breast
4 slices monterrey jack cheese
4 tbsp salsa
4 tbsp plain yogurt
2 tbsp corn meal
ľ cup egg substitute
4 slices red onion
4 lettuce leaves
Ĺ tsp chili powder
ľ tsp salt

Method

1. In a bowl, combine the meat, egg substitute, chili powder and salt.


2. Make 8 patties.


3. Put the cheese slices on 4 patties.


4. Top with the remaining patties.


5. Press gently to seal the cheese.


6. Grill the burgers for 5 minutes on both sides.


7. In a small bowl, combine the salsa and yogurt.


8. Half the burger buns.


9. Place burgers on 4 of the halves of the bun.


10. Top each burger with onion and lettuce.


11. Divide the salsa mixture between the burgers.


12. Top with the remaining halves of the buns.
