Ingredients

Base:

3-4 sour apples sliced in rings
The juice from a medium size lemon
1 cup sugar
2 tbsp honey
1 tsp cinnamon
3-4 tbsp water

Top:

1 cup butter or margarine
¾ cup oat flakes
1 cup flour
½ cup brown sugar

Method

1. Layer the apple slices in a baking tin and dust them with the cinnamon and sugar. Pour the honey, water and lemon juice over.

2. Heat the butter to melt, add the sugar into the butter, oat flakes and flour. Stir the mixture with a spatula to mix the ingredients to a pulp. Let the pulp rest for 4-5 minutes. Scoop the mixture little by little and spread each scoop with your hands, pressing an apple ring on each spread. Continue until you have exhausted all apple rings. Bake the apple pies at 200°C for 45-50 minutes.
