Easy Slow Cooker Chili

A slow cooker is a great option for those of us that don’t want to spend a lot of time cooking. The instant pot also makes it super easy to cook this chili dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 – 15 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 – 15.5 oz can dark red kidney beans
  • 1- 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes with juice
  • 2 -4 Tbsp chili powder (depending on the level of spice you like)
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method

Step 1

turn the instant pot to sauté mode, then add ground beef. Cook until browned and broken into pieces with a spoon or spatula.

Once meat has cooked through drain off any excess grease into the sink (this is an optional step).

Step 2

Return instant pot back to a normal setting and turn on high pressure – set the instant pot to meat setting (15 minutes).

Once the instant pot has cook for 15 minutes it will beep, put on keep warm until needed.

Step 3

When you are ready to eat, stir in your tomato sauce and kidney beans.

Cover the instant pot with the lid off of pressure cooker and set instant pot to sauté mode (low) and simmer for about 15 minutes to thicken.

Stir in diced tomatoes, cumin, chili powder (start with less than the recipe calls as it is easy to add more later if needed). Add salt and pepper to taste

Step 4

Serve instant pot ground beef recipes over rice or potatoes.

Garnish instant pot ground beef recipes with sour cream if desired.
